Delegation of American Fashion Institute of Technology
Recently, director Tildela Sarto of the International Department of the Fashion Institute of Technology of State University of New York as well as dean Marie Davids of the Graduate School visited ZSTU. During the visit, ZSTU president Chen Wenxing and vice president Gao Zhengrong respectively met the guests, and the relevant personnel in charge of the Division of International Exchange and Cooperation as well as the School of International Education attended the meeting.
On April 13, Gao Zhengrong met the guests. Gao expressed his welcome to Sarto and Davids, jointly looked back on their sound cooperative relationship and the achievements in the past 18 years of cooperative schooling, and presented his gratitude for the efforts FIT exerted during the cooperative schooling. Subsequently, Gao gave an introduction to the construction of the Yuhang new campus to the guests, and hoped that on the basis of the existing cooperation, the both parties should make good use of the opportunity of the construction of the new campus, further their cause of cooperative schooling, and promote their scale and level of cooperative schooling. Then, the both parties carried out deep exploration of such issues as holding new cooperative schooling programs, establishment of non-independently set Sino-America cooperative schooling institutions, etc.
After the conference, Sarto and Davids, accompanied by the relevant personnel in charge of the Division of International Exchange and Cooperation as well as School of International Education, visited the campus and met president Chen Wenxing. Chen adequately confirmed the achievements of the cooperative schooling as well as the progressive friendship, and looked forward to the prospect of their future cooperation. Chen stated that this was the first year of the third 60 years of ZSTU schooling, the university just started its new round of development, he hoped that the both universities might further their cooperation in the construction of the Yuhang new campus, and jointly build up a first-rate fashion institute. The delegation headed by Sarto sang high praise of the progressive promotion of the 2 cooperative academic programs in the past 18 years, and expressed that the construction of the new campus was also a good opportunity for FIT, and would carry out profound research and discussion concerning the cooperation intentions discussed during this visit when they were back in their country.
On April 16, the relevant personnel in charge of the Division of International Exchange and Cooperation as well as School of International Education held work conference with the delegation headed by Sarto, concerning the concrete details of the new program cooperation, student exchange and cooperative research, etc.
